Lead Gen Operations

Rank and Rent Setup

Build and launch a lead-generation website for a striping or sealcoating contractor. The contractor gets leads; you keep the site and monetize it.

Overview

You own the domain and the site. The contractor pays a monthly retainer per lead or per customer acquired. This is hands-off for them; you manage the site, ads, and lead flow.

Before You Start
  • Contractor has signed a Rank and Rent agreement
  • You have identified 3-5 target geographic areas (service areas for this contractor)
  • You have a list of competitor websites to analyze (to know pricing, messaging, and market positioning)
Site Build Process

1. Research & Planning (2-3 hours)

  • Analyze 3 competitor websites in the niche and region
  • Identify: what keywords they rank for, what their main pages are, how they price, what they emphasize (emergency response, warranty, etc.)
  • Create a simple brief: site name, color scheme, key pages, target keywords

2. Site Structure (Static HTML)

Build a simple 5-page site:

  • Home Page: Hero section with call-to-action, quick benefits, trust signals (years in business, customers served, warranty)
  • Service Pages: One page each for "Parking Lot Striping," "Seal Coating," etc. Include what's included, pricing range (if you show it), ROI-focused benefits
  • About Us: The contractor's story, team, credentials (brief)
  • Contact / Get Quote: Lead capture form with name, phone, email, service type. On submit, send notification to contractor + add to your CRM
  • FAQs: Common questions (warranty length, how often to seal coat, costs, timeline)

3. SEO Foundation

  • Title tags and meta descriptions for every page (include target keywords: "parking lot striping in [city]")
  • H1 on each page (one per page, use target keywords naturally)
  • Image alt text (describe, include keywords where natural)
  • Internal links (Home links to Service pages, Service pages link back to Home)

4. Lead Capture Setup

  • Form tool (Gravity Forms, Formspree, or a simple HTML form that posts to your email or CRM)
  • On submission: contractor gets SMS/email alert immediately
  • Leads auto-populate in your CRM for tracking and delivery

5. Launch Checklist

  • ☐ All pages mobile-responsive (test on phone)
  • ☐ All forms working (test submissions)
  • ☐ Google Analytics installed
  • ☐ Google Business Profile created and verified (for local search)
  • ☐ Meta tags and title tags in place
  • ☐ Contact info accurate and up to date
  • ☐ Site loads in under 3 seconds
